An Oxfam Inspired Project
Universal healthcare and education.
To depict ill-equipped and poorly paid teachers, doctors & nurses as everyday heroes of the developing world.
I travelled to three countries – India, Mali and Georgia – with a talented and experienced fashion photographer, Keiron O’Connor, helping him make sense of the things we saw on the ground so that he could produce a stunning series of images. Oxfam filled brochures and fundraising flyers with them. It was a simple idea that helped change the way NGOs depict the people they work with in developing countries: no longer as helpless beneficiaries but as determined agents of change.
Oxfam and Keiron O’Connor.
